Mosaics

Blue Sunflower wall plaque made in 2002 at a community college course in Sydney. First attempt at mosaic making, and one I am still proud of.

Soon after I moved to Tasmania I began making mosaics again. Back in 2002 I made my first, a blue sunflower wall plaque, at a Community College course in Sydney. Since then I had three more mosaics teachers, learning different things from each.

For a few months recently, I had a stand at the Axeman’s Hall of Fame Makers’ Market in Latrobe. I met lots of people who were interested in my work, some of whom were also interested in learning to make mosaics themselves. So I ran two workshops at a gallery in Shefield, The Working Art Space.

Now planning a mosaics group in Railton under the auspices of the Railton Arts and Crafts co-operative where I volunteer, and expect to finalise details this week, beginning Monday 1st April 2014.
